The Eyo masquerades, or Adamu Orisha, are central to a historic Yoruba festival on Lagos Island, Nigeria, representing ancestral spirits in flowing white robes and wide-brimmed hats. Held to honor deceased kings, chiefs, or dignitaries, this rare, revered event features five main, colour-coded groups, including Adimu (black), Laba (red), Oniko (yellow), Ologede (green), and Agere (purple). The first fully recorded Eyo Festival took place on February 20, 1854, in Lagos.
The unisex soft-style t-shirt is next-level casual comfort. Made from very soft materials, this tee is 100% cotton for solid colors. Heather colors and sports grey include polyester. The shoulders have twill tape for improved durability, and there are no side seams. The collar is made with ribbed knitting to prevent curling damage.
